Ladies, procrastination is the theft of time!

What is it you have been putting off doing?

Procrastination is the biggest enemy of progress. We put off starting to read or write a new book, revising for an exam, going to the gym or starting a new course…anything that is intimidating to us, is easily put off. Yet, if it was to start a new television series, try a new make up look, or have a lazy day, we will cancel all our productive plans and go for it.

The time is right to go obtain that qualification you have been putting off for a while, start a new business or even join a charity.

Now is the season to be creative and try something new. There is going be the "new phase" that we all go through at some point in life, so don't allow it stop you from stepping out and trying.

Comfort zone is a place of safety but it does not allow us to stretch ourselves and grow. When we take up a bold step away from our comfort zone, we would realise how we have held ourselves back. When we push through and remove ourselves from being "stuck" we would begin to see a whole new horizon. Why don't you decide today to seize the moment, because time does not wait for anybody!

As ladies & mothers, we generally often take the back seat in the family, putting everyone else's needs before our own. We are the chef, teacher, wife, mother, companion, laundry service, therapist, friend and so on. We feel we want to do it all. I enjoy being a mum and a wife but I can admit that some days are definitely easier than others.

Being the nurturing one in the family generally, it is okay to serve your family and do the best for them to create a happy environment for your children to thrive and flourish in. That should not stop you from improving yourself in ways that would benefit you and your family in the long run. It is worth adding that the trend is gradually changing as more ladies are now seeking to advance their careers while raising a family. It is possible.

We need to challenge ourselves outside our comfort zone and seek to develop ourselves by taking on a new challenge, learning a new skill or just be innovative. We can discover a new way of working that will expand out thinking skills. Whenever we feel unwilling to try something new, we should evaluate ourselves to ascertain why we have that fear.

Boldness is a word I now challenge myself with, as I learn new ways of stepping out to something different! As a new blogger, I had to step out of my comfort zone and sought a way of sharing my life experiences with the world, which was not easy. I started off with a plan on how I would like to share my stories. I decided to start blogging and I had some doubts when I began building my website. This was new to me and still is! I had not done a thing like it before but I was determined to not allow my doubts to stop me from reaching a goal. With the support of my husband and my family, I had more courage and even started discovering other creative skills that I did not even realise I had. I got uncomfortable in order to use my talents and gifts.

In the corporate sector, I took some calculated risks and avoided settling for the "usual" when I applied for a promotion which I eventually got! I would not have been given the opportunity for a promotion if I had not stepped out of my comfort zone!

Oprah Winfrey says "success comes when opportunity meets preparation". Remember that all you have gone through in life, the good, the bad and the ugly, all prepare you for the future and the ultimate goal of fulfilling your purpose. In my mind, I have convinced myself that, there is no such thing as having regrets; only learning opportunities. I also feel that rejections are God's way of telling me that the particular position I applied for, was not meant for me, 'a better one would come'! This was always the case historically.

While waiting for the "better position" I prepared myself and improved on my weaknesses. When I applied for the next higher role, I was prepared (when the opportunity presented itself). I have since adapted to my new working environment and I aim to challenge myself even higher - I know I can achieve more in life and so could you!

What have you been avoiding doing for so long?

What steps do you need take to achieve your goal?
