So we have been on lock down for approximately 2 weeks, how does it feel?
Let's be honest, life has changed drastically for all of us, with disruptions to schools, work & family life as we know it. Not only that, but several cancellations to major events have taken place. Having been invited to attend the chancellor dinner at my old university, as an alumni, I booked a hotel for the night, only to receive a cancellation due to the pandemic - I was really looking forward to it!
I went into work last week as a key worker (health worker) although I have now been advised to work from home this week. It has not been too bad working from home as I am able to juggle more domestic tasks whilst working, such as putting a load of washing on the line to dry - the weather has been brilliant!
One main advantage of the lock-down is to appreciate spending more time with my husband and children. I have also had the pleasure of visiting the local park with children, appreciating the sun! It also gives us more time to reconnect with people that we have forgotten during our busy schedules.
Another advantage of the restrictive movement, is having the moment to be creative with my ideas such as finalising the design of this blog. I feel its a time to seize the opportunity and do something positive for me and for my community, no matter how small. So, as you read this, I hope you seize the opportunity to spend time with your loved ones creating happy memories.
